In case you were under a rock the last few days, I have a newsflash for you: Mark McMorris just repeated as X Games Slopestyle gold medalist. For those of us that have been paying attention to this guy’s career it comes as little surprise. For the rest of the world it is now clear he is the heir apparent to the crown in the sport of snowboarding.

Everyone knows that the surf lifestyle is one that we should all aspire to, thanks to the fact that pros in this industry get to travel the world from warm locale to warm locale chasing the best waves during a particular season. There is also another little perk that all too often fails to make mention when the sport is being hyped by a lot of mainstream media.
